spalling-pavers
If your pavers are in need of being cleaned and sealed as the summer season unwinds, you may find yourself wondering if you should put the project off until next spring…you know, so your patio can look it’s best going into next spring. We kinda disagree.

Summer is arguably the least desirable season to seal due to the heat. Hot temperatures cause the sealer to evaporate faster and dry before it’s able to penetrate deep into the pores…where it’s most effective at protecting your pavers. Sealing in the fall, when temperatures are cooler allows the sealer to fully penetrate and also protects your pavers just before the next vicious winter hits. After all, protecting your investment should be one of the main reasons you’ve chosen to seal.
spalling paversOur sealers protect pavers during winter months by minimizing the amount of moisture that’s able to absorb into the paver. In freezing temperatures, this moisture seeps down into the pores, freezes and expands causing the surface of your paver to flake or spall.
